We teamed up with Turner’s sports platform Bleacher Report to create fun social media shorts featuring the biggest stars from the NFL, NBA, and more. With 15.8 million followers on Instagram, B/R leads the conversation around some of the sports world’s hottest topics. The looks of these videos were wide-ranging, including a ‘Chucky’ short in the style of Rick & Morty, a vinyl toy-esque 3D short, and more.
It doesn’t take much to make Cam Newton look like a superhero on the field, but we thought we’d give him a little extra boost. After animating in Maya, our team put some extra loving care into the sim of his cape to make sure it reacted to Cam’s movements accurately. We used ZBrush to sculpt him and the defenders, Cinema 4D for VFX and rendering, and After Effects for compositing.
We had a blast collaborating with Bleacher Report on another CGi animated short. A fun concept, talented team, and great timing, B/R unleashed this Stir Fry on Instagram generating over 1 million views in less than 24 hours.
Using 3D character animation, we collaborated with Bleacher Report to create this social media short ‘Andy Dalton On Fire’. This video features fire sims and high poly character models.
A fun yet challenging concept for a Super Bowl pre-open: visualize the Vince Lombardi trophy coming together in 3D and animate four plays from the two winning NFL teams in 2D. This may seem straightforward; however, we needed to complete this in just 12 days, and combining a 3D chrome trophy with 2D hand-drawn animation is a tricky design combination. Fortunately, our talented team was amped-up to take on this time-sensitive task, and we successfully nailed it with time to spare.
