We teamed up with our friends over at Etage once again to produce another brand-building corporate video for Hexagon’s Shaping Smart Change campaign, this time for their Power Process and Marine (PPM) division.
Each of the previous videos in this campaign relies on a basic shapes theme to drive the story. The theme of this one was “big” – a concept that played on PPM’s mission to confront our world’s big challenges with big ideas and technology that will ‘shape smart change’. PPM deals with clients like oil and gas industries, which means they also deal with really big rigs. These “floating refineries” are massive, intricate, and not so pretty in their true form. A lot of time went into modeling and designing them in a way that spoke to their complexity and scale while keeping them slightly abstract to complement the overall aesthetic of the video.
Translating complex processes into simplified messaging and engaging visuals is always a fun challenge. Timing the script to sync perfectly with the animation took finesse, and was essential to achieve the video’s sense of fluidity and represent PPM’s ability to create streamlined connectivity. Through careful collaboration, design, and a poetically-written script, we delivered PPM’s message in a way that was stylistically cohesive with the other videos in the campaign, while still distinct enough to stand on its own. Hexgon loved the final outcome and proudly shares the video through their online channels, at conferences, and in internal meetings globally.
