Downstream approached us to come up with a solution to greatly reduce the 22+ million high poly park models to half a million tris (541,395). This reduction was necessary for Unity to import and allow real-time interaction and fly-throughs. Along with remodeling every building, we recreated a majority of the textures and UV mapping. Early on we attempted several poly reduction plugins, unfortunately they produced unpleasant results and odd triangular geometry. Downstream needed a solution that offered clean, accurate models on a budget that presented zero lag during real-time fly-throughs, all within a week.
