For Capitol Auto’s 2016 campaign, Deep Sky produced a series of online and broadcast spots for each of the Capitol store brands, instituting a testimonial “lifestyle” theme to tell stories of how real Capitol customers live, how their vehicle supports their lifestyle, and how they share core values with Capitol.
The Bauman family has been farming in Oregon for over a century, has a long history of owning Chevy trucks, and had a lot of praise for Capitol – so they made perfect subjects for this Capitol Chevy spot. Starting at crack of dawn, we were able capture gorgeous drone footage of Bauman Farms, filmed three storylines with the Amira camera, and were even treated to Bauman’s famous apple cider donuts in between interviews.
Before filming we set up a brief interview with Capitol’s client to gather the backstory, and provided a creative brief, key scenes, B-roll wish list, and questionnaire for the director. A 30-second edited version was made for broadcast, including a monthly offer and end card inviting viewers to go online to learn more about the Bauman story in this 90-second web version. Both spots beautifully encapsulated both the Capitol and Chevy brand.
